Quality Assurance

The School of Medicine and the Postgraduate Study Programme “Specialization in Intensive Care Unit Nursing” are specifically committed to implementing the quality policy, which enhances the academic profile and orientation of postgraduate programmes, promotes their purpose and subject, implements their strategic objectives (as set annually), and determines the means, actions and ways of achieving them, ensures the participation of stakeholders and applies the appropriate internal and external quality procedures with the ultimate aim of their continuous improvement.

Furthermore, the School is committed to fostering a climate of communication and cooperation among all its members (staff, students and stakeholders).

The School of Medicine and the Postgraduate Study Programme “Critical Care Nursing” implement the established quality assurance procedures of the Quality Manual of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the required specification at the level of the Postgraduate Study Programme where applicable. The implementation of IQAS procedures is carried out in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) of the University.

Quality assurance procedures constitute a valuable tool for the School and its individual Postgraduate Study Programmes in order to carry out their teaching and research activities, ensure the achievement of their objectives and upgrade their academic work overall.

For the implementation of this policy, the School commits to applying quality procedures that demonstrate:

• the suitability of the structure and organization of the Postgraduate Study Programmes
• that the intended learning outcomes and qualifications are in accordance with the European and National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education
• the promotion of quality and effectiveness of the teaching/research work of the Postgraduate Study Programmes
• the inadequacy of the qualifications of teaching staff for the Postgraduate Study Programmes
• the formulation, implementation and review of specific annual quality objectives for the improvement of the Postgraduate Study Programmes
• the level of demand for the qualifications acquired by graduates in the labour market
• the quality of support services
• the efficient use of resources of the Postgraduate Study Programmes, which may derive from tuition fees
• the conduct of the annual internal evaluation and review of the quality assurance system for the Postgraduate Study Programmes of the School, in cooperation with OMEA and MODIP of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
