The Laboratory of Biochemical and Biotechnological Processes is housed on the 4th floor of Building E13 at the Faculty of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and includes six rooms (numbered 402 to 407). Additionally, it operates a Pilot Processes Room located on the ground floor of the same building, accessible through a separate entrance. Core research activities are primarily carried out in Rooms 404 and 405, along with the Pilot Processes Room, which together span approximately 150 square meters. These areas are fully equipped with laboratory apparatus necessary for cultivating microorganisms and performing analytical procedures, including the analysis and characterization of cellular biomass. Room 403—commonly referred to as the “Simulation Room”—features advanced computer systems installed with specialized software dedicated to process modeling and simulation. Meanwhile, Rooms 402 and 406 serve as office spaces for the Laboratory’s research personnel. Room 407 is set up with workstations and computers and is designated for undergraduate and postgraduate students engaged in thesis research within the Laboratory.
