11/12: Colloquium on “One step forward, two steps back? – Tracing Greek-Albanian relations today”

On Wednesday 11 December 2024 in room 319 (3rd floor, NOPE building) from 18:00 – 20:00 the 1st meeting of the Colloquium of the Department of Political Science for the academic year 2024-2025 will take place on “One step forward, two steps back? – Tracing Greek-Albanian relations today”. The speaker will be Jordan Jorgji, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, University “Fan S. Noli” of Korytsa.

Jordan Jorgji is a lecturer of European and International Politics at the University “Fan S. Noli”, Korytsa. He studied Political Science and Public Administration at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and completed his postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Department of International, European and Regional Studies of Panteion University. His post-doctoral research at the Department of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki focused on contemporary Greek-Albanian relations. He is also a researcher at the Albanian Institute for International Studies (AIIS) based in Tirana.

The Colloquium is a regular activity of the Department of Political Sciences, in which contributions are presented by members of the wider academic community of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Department, as well as invited speakers from other universities in Greece and abroad. The Colloquium is in the form of lectures and workshops with the participation of more researchers and discussants. The Colloquium aspires to be a forum for scientific dialogue on the various aspects of the political phenomenon and power relations, and a trigger for critical reflection. It seeks to be representative of the variety of problematics and methods developed in the field of political, social and human sciences in a broader interdisciplinary perspective and on issues of wider social and political interest. It is addressed mainly to graduate students of the Department but is open to the general public.
