At the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (IPP), tuition fees are set at the amount of two thousand seven hundred euros (2700) for each cycle of studies. Payment is made by the student themselves (or by a third natural or legal person on behalf of the student) to an account of the Special Research Account (E.L.K.E.).
The payment of the tuition fees will be made in three equal installments: the first upon registration, the second before the start of the second semester, and the third before the start of the third semester, to a bank account maintained for this purpose by the Special Research Account of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.).
Students eligible for free tuition due to financial or social criteria are those postgraduate students who meet the excellence criterion during the first cycle of studies, which corresponds to a minimum grade of seven and a half out of ten (7.5/10). The specific terms and conditions for the right to free tuition in the IPPs are described in the applicable legislation as well as in the decision of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs. The number of exempted students should not exceed thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students admitted to the IPP, and it concerns participation in only one IPP. If the eligible students exceed this percentage, they are selected based on a ranking starting with those who have the lowest income.
The application for tuition fee exemption is submitted by the interested party to the Department after the completion of the student selection process for the IPP. The possibility of exemption from the obligation to pay tuition fees is provided exclusively for attendance in one IPP organized by a higher education institution of the country. The Postgraduate Studies Regulation defines the necessary procedures for the successful completion and granting of the right to free tuition.
The A.U.Th. may grant compensatory scholarships to postgraduate students with the obligation to support the educational process and provide auxiliary teaching work. The IPP determines the maximum amount of the compensatory scholarship per student, the maximum number of weekly working hours, and other details related to the granting of scholarships. Postgraduate students are informed following a relevant announcement from the Secretariat of the IPP.
