Aristidis Arhakis

Aristidis Archakis graduated from the School of Dentistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (DDS) in 1997. He attended the postgraduate program in Pediatric Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute, Great Britain (MDentSCI) from 1999 to 2001. He worked as a Community Dentist with a specialization in Pediatric Dentistry at a Public Dental Center in Bradford, Great Britain, from 2001 to 2002.

He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology, and Implant Biology at the School of Dentistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2013. He was a Scholar Fellow at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry from 2014 to 2018 and has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Dentistry since 2018.

His name appears as an author or co-author in 40 publications in international scientific journals, receiving 470 citations, as well as at least 25 publications in Greek scientific journals. He is the author of the book “Pediatric Dentistry. Laboratory Guide” (in Greek), published in 2015 by Kallipos Publishing. He is also the author of five chapters in the book “Pediatric Dentistry” (in Greek), published in 2019 by Fylatos Publishing, and four chapters in the book “Pediatric Dentistry” (Kotsanos N, Sarnat H, Park K) published in 2022 by Springer Nature.

He has served as a reviewer for more than 20 international scientific journals and has been involved in supervising 2 doctoral theses and 8 postgraduate theses, 4 of which received awards for best presentation at international pediatric dentistry conferences.

He is a Councilor of the Greeks at the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (EAPD) and the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Preventive Dentistry Society of Greece (E.P.O.E.) and the Hellenic Pediatric Dentistry Society. He has made over 150 presentations at Greek and international conferences on topics related to dental trauma, saliva, dental fear, and the assessment of dental fear through saliva.
