Curriculum and Knowledge Assessment

The Postgraduate Study Program PostGraduate Study Program «PROSTHODONTICS» is structured into six (6) semesters.

  • In the 1st semester, seven (7) courses are taught, all of which are mandatory.
  • In the 2nd semester, six (6) courses are taught.
  • In the 3rd semester, six (6) courses are taught.
  • In the 4th semester, six (6) courses are taught.
  • In the 5th semester, four (4) courses are taught.
  • In the 6th semester, four (4) courses are taught. The postgraduate diploma thesis is prepared during the final semester.

Laboratory/Clinical training is also provided (Prosthodontics Laboratory, Government Gazette 692/Vol. B’/7-3-2017).

The official language of instruction for the PostGraduate Study Program «PROSTHODONTICS»    is Greek. The postgraduate diploma thesis may be written in either Greek or English (following a recommendation from the Coordinating Committee and a decision by the Departmental Assembly).

Important ECTS Information

 

Please note the following regarding ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System):

Each course must have at least 2 ECTS.

Each semester must comprise 30 ECTS.

Each academic year must correspond to 60 ECTS.

 

It’s important to understand that 1 ECTS equals 26 hours of workload.

 

Postgraduate Diploma Thesis Preparation

 

The preparation of the postgraduate diploma thesis (PDT) must begin no later than after the successful completion of the courses of the first four semesters. Each semester requires a minimum of 30 ECTS, and the PDT itself accounts for 30 ECTS.

 

The PDT can also be written in English, following a recommendation by the Coordinating Committee of the “Prosthodontics” PSP and a decision by the Department of Dentistry’s Assembly.

 

Every year in March, the CC assigns courses to faculty members (TRP), based on their declarations, for the upcoming academic year. The corresponding and updated Course Information Sheets (CIS) must be submitted by June.

 

The commencement and conclusion of courses, as well as the duration of examination periods, are determined by the academic calendar or by a decision of the Departmental Assembly.
