Tuition Fees and Exemptions

In the PSP, tuition fees are set at the amount of three thousand six hundred euros (€3,600) for the entire duration of studies, which postgraduate students are required to pay in two equal installments during the 1st week of the 1st and the 3rd academic semester. The payment of tuition fees is made to the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE) of AUTh. Failure to fulfill financial obligations constitutes sufficient grounds for not awarding the Diploma and/or deregistration from the PSP.

The right to receive free tuition due to financial or social criteria is granted to postgraduate students who meet the excellence criterion during the first cycle of studies, corresponding to at least a grade of seven and a half or higher out of ten (7.5/10). The specific terms and conditions of the right to free tuition in Postgraduate Programs are described in the current legislation as well as in the decision of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs. Exempted students should not exceed thirty percent (30%) of the total number of students admitted to the PSP. If the eligible students exceed the aforementioned percentage, they are selected in order of ranking, starting from those with the lowest income.

The application for exemption from tuition fees is submitted by the interested party to the Department after the completion of the selection process of students in the PSP. The finalization of exempted students is carried out by the Department Assembly following a recommendation by the Coordinating Committee.

The tuition fees (either the 1st or both installments) are non-refundable under any circumstances unless the PSP cannot operate due to very serious force majeure reasons, after approval by the Department Assembly and provided that it is also approved by the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE).
