GESS Trial

Event prediction algorithm for coronary heart disease complexity

GEnetic Syntax Score (GESS)

The aim of the GESS Trial is to investigate the role of 228 genetic polymorphisms in terms of the complexity and severity of coronary artery disease (SYNTAX score) and in terms of response to medication with antiplatelets and statins. The ambition of the GESS Trial is to combine genetic, pharmacogenetic, clinical and laboratory data in order to create an algorithm for predicting cardiovascular events (GEnetic Syntax Score-GESS) on the basis of which it will be possible to personalize the therapeutic approach of patients with coronary heart disease and is the first global research effort in this direction.
