Keynote speakers

Luca Bargelloni

Professor, Animal Biotechnology and Veterinary General Pathology,  University of Padova

Dr. Luca Bargelloni is a full professor in Animal Biotechnology and Veterinary General Pathology. He has been working on fish genetics and genomics for over two decades, and has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers in high impact journals. His work has been acknowledged by over 8,000 citations resulting in an h-index of 46 (Scopus, August 2023). His research interests include the fields of comparative genomics, molecular evolution, and population genetics.

Ze-Xia Gao

Professor, College of Fisheries, Huazhong Agricultural University (China)

Dr. Gao is a full professor in College of Fisheries, Huazhong Agricultural University (China). She had been working as a visiting scholar in The Ohio State University, UC Davis and Nofima. Her lab is focusing on the molecular mechanisms and breeding of fish economic traits (bone-free fillet, growth, gonadal development) using comparative omics, molecular assisted breeding, gene editing technologies. Her lab has published over 120 peer-reviewed papers in Nature Communication, National Science Review, Aquaculture, et al.

Wes Warren

Professor of Genomics, University of Missouri (USA)

Prof. Warren is a leading expert in Comparative Genomics and his publications have been cited almost 46,000 times (h-index 81). His research involves the use of whole genome comparative methods to examine genetic adaptation events within existing or emerging model organisms as a means to better understand human biology. Prof. Warren is currently applying single-cell RNA sequencing to understand how changes in the immune system, olfaction and vision enabled some fish species to adapt independently to living in caves, while their counterparts retain their lifestyle in open waters.
