Quality Policy of the University

The Senate of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, following a proposal by the Quality Assurance Unit (meeting no. 23/28-2-2019), at its meeting no. 2981/7-3-2019, defined the Quality Policy of the Institution as follows:

  • Continuous quality improvement in education and research
  • Constant improvement in the quality of the provided processes and services
  • Constant improvement in quality of life and quality of work within Aristotle University
  • Transparency at all levels
  • Dissemination of Aristotle University contributions to the society and the political leadership, as well as to the international academic community.

The quality policy is implemented through:

  • Commitment to compliance with the legal and regulatory framework of the Institution.
  • Establishment, review, redesign, and redefinition of quality assurance goals, which are fully harmonized with the Institution‘s strategy.

This policy mainly supports:

  • The organization of the internal quality assurance system.
  • The assumption of responsibilities by the leadership of the Institution, the Departments and other functional units, the staff members and the students, as well as the role that corresponds to them regarding quality assurance.
  • The protection of academic principles, ethics, the prevention of discrimination, the encouragement of the participation of external bodies in quality assurance.
  • The continuous improvement of learning and teaching, research and innovation.
  • The assurance of quality of study programs and their compliance with the specific standard of the Hellenic Quality Assurance Authority (HQAA).
  • The effective organization of services and the development and maintenance of infrastructures.
  • The provision and effective management of the necessary resources for the operation of the Institution.
  • The development and rational distribution of human resources.
