Participants and Admission

The number of students admitted per year is set at a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 30 postgraduate students. The MSc cannot operate with fewer than 25 postgraduate students.

The MSc, following a decision of the Departmental Assembly/Curriculum Committee, shall advertise positions through an open procedure. In particular, the invitation shall specify the admission requirements, number of admission, categories of candidates, mode of admission, selection criteria, etc., the deadlines for submission of applications and the supporting documents required.

 

The supporting documents required include the following:

  1. An application accompanied by a short letter of motivation for your expression of interest
  2. A detailed curriculum vitae with a brief curriculum vitae and a short letter of motivation.
  3. A copy of a diploma or degree (with a certificate of equivalence from the IOATAP in the case of foreign qualifications)
  4. Certificate of studies with detailed grades of undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses relevant to the subject of the M.Sc.
  5. Certificate of knowledge of English language

**In case of knowledge of a second foreign language, the corresponding certificate must also be submitted.

6. Evidence of any research and writing activity, as well as professional experience relevant to the field of specialisation (if any).

7. Photocopy of identity card or passport

Applications accompanied by the necessary supporting documents should be submitted to the Department’s Secretariat, either in paper or electronic form.

 

The selection criteria for admission may include:

  1. Degree/Diploma level
  2. Degree or Diploma/Professional Degree or Diploma/Graduate
  3. At least a minimum level of proficiency in a second or other foreign language.
  4. Professional experience (duration and type)
  5. Research experience
  6. Letters of recommendation.
  7. Interview by a competent committee.

 

The method of evaluation (grading) of the above criteria is the responsibility of the Assembly of the Department of Medicine.

In detail :

a) overall degree grade, multiplied by

(i) by a factor of two and a half (2,5) for a university degree, subject to a maximum of     twenty-five (25) points,
(ii) by a factor of two (2) for a TEI degree, subject to a maximum of twenty (20) points

(b) Previous research activity: from one (1) to five (5) points.

(c) Relevant professional experience: from one (1) to five (5) points.

(d) Other relevant qualifications: from zero (0) to ten (10) points.

(e) Foreign language qualifications other than English: from one (1) to five (5) points.

(g) Oral interview : on a scale from zero (0) to ten (10).

The oral interview score shall be multiplied by a factor of two (2), i.e. the interview shall be given a maximum of twenty (20) points.
